Real Property Management Vesta spent Saturday afternoon at the Macon Beer Festival / Pints for Prostates. This annual event is sponsored by two terrific organizations and raises money to benefit prostate cancer research. The festival continues to grow, and this year over a thousand patrons had the opportunity to taste nearly 60 beers on a sunny afternoon in Downtown Macon. Volunteers man the taps, and RPM Vesta was fortunate to host the station pouring a pair of beers from Dogfish Head Brewery in Delaware. Both the Namaste and Festina Peche were crowd favorites!
Main Street Macon and the Rotary Club of Downtown Macon partner to put on the event each year attracting people from all over Central Georgia for the festivities. Beer distributors from around the state were enlisted to provide the beverages, and they did not disappoint. In a departure from previous years, the entire event took place outdoors in a two block area at the intersection of Poplar and Third Streets rather than as more of a pub crawl between restaurants and bars. This made it easier to try each of the offerings and eliminated bottlenecks that had created long lines in the past.
The success of Macon Beer Festival / Pints for Prostates is another indication of all of the good things that are happening in our part of the state and a particularly encouraging sign for the continued progress in Downtown Macon. If you weren’t able to make it this year, plan to be there next August. RPM Vesta will be there again, and we’d really like to see you there, too!
